Harvested only once a year during a brief seven-day window, the Rose Label Reserve is truly scarce. This limited production, coupled with the tea’s exceptional characteristics, elevates it to the status of a sought-after micro-lot tea, cherished by connoisseurs worldwide.
Nature’s masterpiece
The changing climate and ever-transforming terroir infuse each year's harvest with unique characteristics. This ensures a constantly evolving flavor profile without any unnatural additives in our Rose Label Reserve. This dynamic character of the tea translates to a truly exceptional and luxurious liquor for your taste buds.
The rarest yield of the season
The 45-year-old Wild Assamica bush is a historic, one-of-a-kind varietal, known to produce one of the world’s rarest black teas. This yield from this bush occurs at the beginning of the second flush. During this period, unique alchemy unfolds as the tea leaves develop an extraordinary concentration of terpenes, aromatic compounds that elevate this tea to unparalleled heights.
A 360° Sensory Journey
Tasting notes
The Rose Label Reserve ‘24 offers a 360-degree sensory journey. This luxurious tea delights with notes of musky camphor undertones, gracefully evolving into a blend of sweet, fragrant rose blossoms, subtly spicy notes, and melted brown sugar.
Leaves
As you sniff the dry tea leaves, you’ll get a natural perfumy note of musky camphor and sweet flowers. The wet leaves burst with prominent camphor notes with a nuanced musky rose scent and a finish of melted brown sugar, embodying pure luxury in every sip.
Flavors and Liquor
The bright amber liquor of the tea has a persistent floral aroma. Once you take a slow sip, the liquor will engulf your palate in the most vibrant, sweet floral black tea you've ever experienced. The malty sweetness, caramel notes, and lingering camphor-like finish evoke a rich floral, musky rose aftertaste.
Meet the People behind the Tea
Discovered the True Gem
Nikesh Gurung, our youngest tea maker, was just 19 years old when he discovered the gem; Rose Label Reserve. He has an eye for teas that reflect unique and complex characteristics. Under his budding but observant supervision, he identified the sparkling rarity in the special tea lot that turned out to be the most coveted and premium teas we have ever crafted.
Tea Expert's Choice
Nalin Modha, a tea manufacturing consultant and a veteran teamaker at Darjeeling, played a key role in identifying the Rose Label Reserve amongst multiple tea liquors that were tasted at the farm.
Maker’s Touch of Magic
Meet Chandra Dai, our master tea maker, who is fond of experimenting with teas. He grew up amidst the tea bushes, proving to be a prized addition to KTE since its establishment. His gentle touch and expertise bring life to our most exclusive Rose Label tea. He beautifully captures the legacy of this extraordinary tea, all while ensuring every cup is a luxurious experience.

Bravo!
“ I cannot recall the last time I was this excited to experience a new tea and my first sips of the pure delight that is The Rose Label Reserve did indeed make quite a remarkable impression. The biggest surprise to me was in the floral note; which seems to bloom more in the middle of the sip & settle softly in the aftertaste.”

One of the Best Teas I’ve ever tried!
“ It’s just honestly a delightful tea. It’s a true black tea with rose accents, it’s certainly not overly perfumed or sweet (ie it isn’t fake - all that flavor came out of the ground). Would buy again and again!”
Griffin Bohm
“ This tea filled with the passion of the people who make it opens up a beautiful bouquet of floral roses that infuses the entire experience. Nepal is an origin whose terrier challenges tea producers but has the potential to forge a unique place within the industry.”

Fragrant and soft but full-bodied.
“ The Rose Label # 157 which hails from the Bannockburn #157 cultivar is a pleasure to drink - I brew it at a bit stronger ratio than recommended and infuse for a shorter time, almost gongfu but not quite - I find this tea to be easy to like - it is fragrant, both in aroma and taste, it brews strong but not bitter and the soup is silky.”
