Cosmo Tea- Holiday Toddy Cocktail Recipe

As the holidays come in, we’re getting ready to spend some warm evenings with our loved ones. And if you know us, then you already know we don’t recommend putting down your cup of tea, not even for holidays. The tea must be drinketh, we say!

Cosmo tea for the Holiday

We hope to bring you many recipes to keep you from forgetting your favorite Nepali teas this holiday season. And today, in this blog, we will be exploring a toddy recipe. Toddy is a hot cocktail drink prepared with sugar, spice and everything nice!

For this specific toddy recipe, we’ve spun a Nepali twist to it. Usually prepared in hot water, we will be adding Nepal Tea Collective’s most aromatic blend- Kathmandu Cosmos. We can already feel the scented aroma engulfing a crisp winter evening.

We promise you this cocktail will bring a blanket to your soul with every sip!

Ingredients for the perfect holiday toddy

  • 8 oz water
  • 4 grams of Nepal Tea Collective’s Kathmandu Cosmos
  • A sprinkle of vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoon honey, maple syrup or molasses or to taste
  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • 1 lemon wedge

Let the Holiday Toddy preparations begin!

In a small pot, boil the water.

As the water begins to boil, add 4 grams of Kathmandu Cosmos.

Sprinkle a little bit of vanilla essence.

As the tea starts to boil, turn off the heat.

Add 4 tablespoons of your sweetener to the tea and stir.

Strain the drink into the vessel of your choice.

We, of course, recommend this vacuum seal mug to keep the drink toasty for extra long.

Now you could just stop here and we will love you forever! This is a sweet cup of tea and we love tea. But we also understand if you want that little buzz to make family time warmer and brighter.

So add that drink of your choice and we promise any spirit will work (okay maybe a chilled beer might not work in a cup of tea, but you know what you mean!). When we made this we tried whisky and it was delicious!

We’re curious to know how red wine would work here too. If you’re willing to experiment, then do let us know!

Let the wedge of lemon float in the mug. Serve and enjoy!
