Tasting notes

The Rose Label Reserve ‘24 offers a 360-degree sensory journey. This luxurious tea delights with notes of musky camphor undertones, gracefully evolving into a blend of sweet, fragrant rose blossoms, subtly spicy notes, and melted brown sugar.

Leaves

As you sniff the dry tea leaves, you’ll get a natural perfumy note of musky camphor and sweet flowers. The wet leaves burst with prominent camphor notes with a nuanced musky rose scent and a finish of melted brown sugar, embodying pure luxury in every sip.

Nikesh Gurung, our youngest tea maker, was just 19 years old when he discovered the gem; Rose Label Reserve. He has an eye for teas that reflect unique and complex characteristics. Under his budding but observant supervision, he identified the sparkling rarity in the special tea lot that turned out to be the most coveted and premium teas we have ever crafted.

Nalin Modha, a tea manufacturing consultant and a veteran teamaker at Darjeeling, played a key role in identifying the Rose Label Reserve amongst multiple tea liquors that were tasted at the farm.

Meet Chandra Dai, our master tea maker, who is fond of experimenting with teas. He grew up amidst the tea bushes, proving to be a prized addition to KTE since its establishment.
