Silver Needle white tea is the least processed of all tea types. With virtually no oxidation, this makes it one of the purest teas available. While its production process is simple, the real artistry lies in the precision and timing of plucking the finest, unopened buds from young tea bushes who are less than 50 years old, which sets it apart from older Indian and Chinese bushes. This results in a uniquely fresh, floral brew that’s unmatched in its delicacy.
The buds are hand-picked and left to dry naturally, allowing the moisture to evaporate slowly. What remains are shimmering silver buds covered in fine hairs, or trichomes, which protect the tender new growth. This abundance of trichomes gives Silver Needle its distinctive appearance and flavor, setting it apart as one of the most prized and expensive teas.
