Verdict is out!

I’m proud of these Top of the World Teas taste. Hardly bitter in taste, and there’s a floral and mild taste. I know Bhakanje Tea Estate has the potential to bring out extraordinary flavors from the tea leaves. The high altitude is a promise of delicious brews.

These four teas are truly natural marvels. Grown at such high altitudes, cultivated lovelingly by the Shepa community, these teas really reflect the mountians in a cup. While each of these teas stand on its own, the sweet floral characters in all of these teas is quite unmatched. With such minimalistic processing equipments and techniques, I am beyond proud of what the community has been able to achieve.

High-Mountain Nepali Tea? Yes, Please!

Each tea thoughtfully expresses the terroir from the high altitude of Bhakanje, Solukhumbu, providing lasting infusions and a nice shift of flavors and aromas. There is an iconic flavor of Nelapi tea, which this set boldly displays with pride.

I thoroughly enjoyed tasting the differences between #1 and #4, as they both were produced from the same garden yet during different seasons. It is this interplay that helps tea drinkers understand the context and nuance of crafting tea. #2 and #4 are my favorites in the set, and I look forward to tasting more from this tea estate!

Fragrant and jasmine like

I had a cup of the Spring Black Tea #2 this morning and it was fragrant - like jasmine flower - with a very smooth mouth feel. Extremely soothing and warm!
